Ocean Resort Casino
Ocean Resort Casino is Atlantic City's oceanfront resort destination. A property of that scale produces an enormous volume of physical collateral, player loyalty cards, guest amenity packaging, bar and room materials, and it needed a proprietary pattern that could carry the resort's coastal identity across all of it without depending on the logo to do the work every time.
Our approach began with what a pattern has to do that a logo cannot. A mark identifies. A pattern sets a mood at a distance and rewards attention up close, and in a resort it appears on surfaces where a logo would be too loud or too small. The strategic brief we set was that the pattern should read as abstract from across a room and reveal itself as coastal in the hand, so that the sensory memory of the Atlantic is present everywhere without a single literal illustration of it.
The concept draws on the tension between built geometry and natural coastline: a structured diagonal grid interrupted by organic wave forms, fine-line textures, and a recurring circular motif. The grid is the architecture, the boardwalk, the towers. The waves and circles are the water and the light on it. Held in balance, the two read as a place rather than a decoration.
The system was engineered for production. A modular tile structure lets the pattern scale from a card face to a wall, with colorway and material application guidelines covering holographic finishes for the premium loyalty tier, tone-on-tone treatments for amenity packaging, and collateral templates for in-resort use. Poker chips, bar napkins, beach bags, and loyalty cards were designed as the proving set.
The pattern now lives across the resort's physical touchpoints as a signature the property owns outright. It is the project we cite when a hospitality brand needs an identity to travel further than its logo can.
